A finding is a report written by the coroner about the facts of the death. The finding can also include comments or recommendations to help prevent similar deaths in the future.
In order to publicise these lessons, the findings and recommendations are open to the public.

Get a copy of a summary of recommendations
For cases opened after 1 July 2007 that are now closed
Coronial Services, in collaboration with the New Zealand Legal Information Institute (NZLII), aims to provide free online access to all coroner recommendations.
You can search for recommendations from cases that were opened after 1 July 2007 that are now closed. You can search for cases by the name of the person who died or by key word.
